Gordie Howe Suffers Second Major Stroke
By Josh Hill
Detroit Red Wings legend and NHL icon Gordie Howe is in intensive care following a second major stroke he suffered on Monday.
Gordie Howe had one of the most legendary careers an athlete could hope for, but that’s not the man so many people are keeping in their thoughts at the moment. Howe is a family man who always loved hockey and it’s fans as though they were his own flesh and blood. He gave enough flesh and blood to build the sport of hockey into what it is today, and for that so many fans are hoping Howe can pull through after suffering a second major stroke on Monday.

According to a report from CBC and the Detroit Free Press, the Howe suffered another major stroke and is in intensive care in Lubbock.
"Gordie Howe is in intensive care after suffering another stroke, the Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday.Mark Howe, a son of the 86-year-old hockey legend, told the Free Press that he and his brothers, Murray and Marty, were travelling to Lubbock, Texas, to be with their father, who has been staying there with his daughter Cathy since the summer."
He is perhaps the greatest hockey player ever to have lived, next to only the legend of Wayne Gretzky. It can be argued though that without Howe, who has been dubbed Mr. Hockey, there would be no Gretzky the way there is today. Howe’s legacy speaks for itself, but it’s the fact that so many people care for him as a person and the kind man he is that shows how many lives he truly touched.
