Prior to Florida State’ code of conduct hearing on the matter, Winston’s attorney, David Cornwell released a statement and said the following (H/T TampaBay.com):

"“We intend to end this process today,” Winston’s adviser, David Cornwell, said in a two-minute statement before the hearing.“Unfortunately, in these type of cases, the only way to confront the lie is with the truth. Jameis will tell the truth today, and we are confident Justice (Major) Harding, when he hears her multiple lies and Jameis’ truth will find as every other entity has to this point: that she is lying.”"

While Winston’s camp is calling the accuser a liar, the young woman’s attorney also released a statement Tuesday with strong words of their own about the Florida State quarterback.

"“This is the day that Mr. Winston has been desperately trying to avoid for two years,” John Clune, one of the attorneys for his accuser, said Tuesday morning in a statement. “This courageous young woman finally gets the chance to stand up for herself and against Mr. Winston and big time college sports which has long run over the rights and protection of women on campus. Neither Jameis Winston nor his lawyer can stop what is coming.”"

Winston could potentially be expelled from Florida State if found guilty.

Winston has thrown for 3,250 yards, 21 touchdowns and 17 interceptions this season.
