On Tuesday it was made official that Brady Hoke will not be the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines any longer, following the team’s failure to make it to six wins this season. Just a short time ago, we received an explanation from athletic director Jim Hackett.
Hackett took to the podium to discuss the decision that he has made over the past few days of relieving Hoke of his duties, and this is what he had to say.

Hoke was a very nice person, which no doubt did make this decision difficult to let him go. However, in the end, he just did not get the job done at one of the more prestigious programs in the nation.
After making the initial statement, Hackett went on to say that he would not comment on any potential replacements at this time, and this should be a lengthy process in finding a new coach for the Michigan Wolverines.
At this time, there are a lot of names on that list, including alum and 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, who could indeed be making a return to the collegiate ranks.
