Ray Rice is free to sign with any NFL team who wants him. Could it be one of these five teams?

After Ray Rice won his appeal and was reinstated to the NFL, four teams have allegedly expressed interest in Rice and could sign him for the remainder of the season.

Before I get into the logistics of the issue at hand, I want to make my stance known. It gives me no pleasure to even have to write about this, but it’s part of the NFL, and it could swing the playoff race if someone gets him. Regardless of how you feel, Rice is eligible to play if a team wants him.

Rice could never play in the NFL again, and I would be totally fine. I don’t care about him. I don’t want my favorite team to sign him. I’m not a fan of his, and I know he’ll get what’s coming to him somewhere down the line for his heinous crime.

But, no matter what I think or feel, the fact is Rice isn’t done with the NFL yet.

Rice probably has grounds for a slough of lawsuits against the league, including wrongful termination, libel, slander, and many more laws that only highly paid lawyers know and understand. If he never plays another snap in the NFL, you can guarantee Rice will sue the NFL for what he’s worth.

This issue is so tricky. I don’t know how a general manager could sign Rice, and then feel good about it later on, even if that move resulted in a Super Bowl victory.

On the other hand, like Mark Cuban pointed out, I don’t think society should turn their backs on everyone who does something wrong or makes a mistake. There are people who don’t deserve a second chance, and maybe Rice is one of those people. I don’t know.

Regardless of the legal issues or how you, personally, feel about the issue, Rice is free to play in the NFL right now if a team wants him.

Who are some teams that might take a chance on Rice?

Let’s take a look.
