Harold Henderson has ruled that Troy Vincent must testify in Adrian Peterson’s appeal case to the NFL.
The NFL and Adrian Peterson have been locked into a very ugly battle over the reinstatement of Peterson, and things got even uglier when Ray Rice was reinstated after being caught on film punching his girlfriend unconscious and dragging her out of an elevator.

Peterson’s entire situation started when he was accused of child abuse for spanking his son with a switch, and a long investigation kept him out for a good chunk of games. Troy Vincent, who is the NFL’s executive vice president, was caught on tape talking to Peterson about the case and telling him that the time he was already suspended for would count towards the suspension that he would receive from the NFL.
Unfortunately for the NFL, that completely throws their case out the window and makes it very likely that Peterson will wind up winning the appeal.
According to a report from Pro Football Talk, Harold Henderson has ruled that Vincent must testify in the case and has urged both sides to resolve the case before it gets to that point. The only way that the NFL could keep Vincent from having to testify would be to resolve things with Peterson and allow him back on the football field completely reinstated.
This is a huge piece of news for Peterson and his case, and it’s very possible that he could end up seeing the field after all this year. It hasn’t been a pretty road, but there is no question that he should be reinstated now that Rice is reinstated and allowed to sign with any team at any time.
Hopefully this situation gets resolved in the near future and things can be put in the past. Roger Goodell on the other hand has seen his name dragged through the mud twice recently, and things certainly aren’t looking good for his future. It will be very intriguing to see how everything ends up both in the immediate future, as well as the long-term picture.
