Wrestling is a fake sport, but the drama is very much getting real when it comes to how former star CM Punk was fired and the dirt he’s throwing on his former employer.
When something loud and controversial happens in the WWE, it’s usually a staged event. But the attack on the company from former employee and star CM Punk is very real, as he is trying to take down the WWE for what he sees as unfair treatment by management at the top. Punk recently revealed that Vince McMahon, the CEO of the WWE, fired him on his wedding day after years of unfair treatment towards himself and his fellow wrestlers.

McMahon has since responded to Punk’s claims that he fired him on his wedding day, which prompted an honest reaction from the CEO. In response to Punk’s claims, McMahon didn’t go on the defensive and instead apologized to miscommunication regarding the situation.
All of this went down on Cold Stone Steve Austin’s podcast, which is notable in that Austin and McMahon had a similar falling out not that long ago. While Austin’s falling out with McMahon was without any of the behind the scenes dirt shoveling that Punk is doing, Still, McMahon apologizing is a step in the right direction towards moving past this whole mess, even if he followed up the remark by saying Punk’s communications skills are less that stupendeous.
It’s been a really bad year for McMahon, as he is no longer a billionaire, his WWE Network is fledgling and the sport is clearly in turmoil. This isn’t the end of the WWE but it hasn’t been a year in which you’d think the sport is in some sort of golden era so much as it may be in one of it’s darkest times ever.
