One cancer survivor has a special message for Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones ahead of the Big 10 Championship versus Wisconsin.
Cardale Jones has a tough task ahead of him. After opening the season as Ohio State’s No. 3 quarterback, Jones will start in the Big 10 Championship, needing to lead the Buckeyes to a victory if there are to have any shot at reaching the College Football Playoff.
But one young boy is putting Jones’ difficult Saturday in perspective with a special video that should serve as motivation for Ohio State.
Here’s Joshua Chambers, who is fighting high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
This is a really cool video and a fair message to Jones.
Fox Sports spoke to Joshua’s father about the video.

"“The Cardale video was to hopefully lend an ounce of inspiration to him in the midst of what seems to be a lot of doubt surrounding his ability. Joshua believes that he can do it, and that the Buckeyes will win,” (Jeremy) Chambers said.Chambers also said his son’s relationship with the Buckeyes is a two-way street, his son helps to inspire the players and the players’ support helps his son fight his battle.“He knows that they help him, but that his little messages and phone calls help inspire them as well,” Chambers said. “And it really speaks volumes to the impact the program has had on our son’s battle.”"
The Buckeyes came in at No. 5 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. After losing its season-opener to Virginia Tech, Ohio State has impressively rattled off 11 straight wins. However, when deciding Ohio State’s ultimate fate, the committee will presumably take into account the season-ending injury suffered by star quarterback J.T. Barrett last week. That’s why it’s crucial for Jones not only to win the game, but play very well for Ohio State to reach the playoff.
Joshua, who is currently in remission, will surely be watching Saturday.
