Andre Johnson Pays For Kids’ Annual Shopping Spree
By Cory Buck
Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson once again took local kids to a Toys ‘R Us and paid for everything they could grab in 80 seconds.
Andre Johnson continued his annual tradition of giving to kids in need when he plucked children from the Harris County Department of Family Protective Services and took them to Toys ‘R Us and bought them whatever they could fit in a shopping cart in 80 seconds. You can check out the start of that madness below.
“You can go through the store and get whatever you want,” Johnson said at the spree’s onset, per the Houston Chronicle. “I’ll pay for it. Have a Merry Christmas.”

The video game systems are under lock and key, so Johnson promised one to whoever wanted a console, along with a few games.
This was the eighth year for Johnson’s spree and while it’s been a great boon to kids in need, the deal hasn’t been so bad for Toys R Us either. When all was said and done this year, Johnson rang up over $16,000 in purchases. The tab was so big, Johnson started receiving gift cards in return.
Johnson posed for pictures with the kids after their shopping spree, showing that sometimes Christmas can come early for those in most need of a holiday.
