The Florida Gators have moved on from Will Muschamp, and one of the names they’re looking at is Josh McDaniels — who has no idea about any rumors.
When the Florida Gators decided to move on from Will Muschamp following his abysmal tenure as head coach, one of the names that popped up was that of New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. While he has never coached in the college ranks before, McDaniels has established himself as a sort of wiz-kid capable of great things.

Of course, he flamed out pretty quickly in Denver when he was given a chance to be head coach and wound up back in New England coaching Tom Brady. The Florida Gators have been rumored to be interested in McDaniels, but he apparently has no idea about any interest from the Gators.
"“I really honestly don’t even have any idea about that rumor,” he explained. “I heard it. But I have nothing to add to it. And my focus is solely on the Chargers and getting our team ready to go this week on offense and trying to the best thing I can.”"
The Gators seem to be trending in a different direction anyways, but the school will need a fresh voice regardless. It may not be a sexy name or even a name from the NFL, but Florida needs someone to change the culture of losing.
McDaniels is an interesting option, but it might be a while before he gets any further head coaching chances after the way things ended so poorly in Denver.
