The New York Jets benched Michael Vick in favor of Geno Smith, but the veteran doesn’t view his demotion the same way everyone else does.

That is what we all like to call a benching, but don’t tell Michael Vick that.
As far as Vick himself is concerned, the Jets never benched him.
“I don’t look at it as me getting benched, first and foremost, to correct you,” Vick said on Wednesday, via Dom Cosentino of NJ.com. “But if you want to look at it that way, you can.
“You’re going to think what you going to think, I’m going to think what I’m going to think. And I think what I think is most important. I just look at it as an opportunity for this organization to figure out the things that they need to figure out and see what they need to see. Does that answer your question?”
No, Michael. It doesn’t.
This is just the latest strange news to come from the New York Jets organization this season and it probably won’t be the last.
It is nice to see Vick staying positive, though.
