No. 32-29

32. Blake Bortles – Jacksonville Jaguars – Power Ranking Score: 130.2

If Blake Bortles has another week or two like the he did last week in Jacksonville’s come from behind victory over the Giants he may just climb out of this bottom spot in the rankings. Geno Smith may still be a couple of points ahead in the Power Rankings Score but they are trending in opposite directions and there’s no question that Bortles is the more promising prospect.

31. Geno Smith – New York Jets – Power Ranking Score: 133.9

The Jets literally tried to just take Geno Smith (THEIR STARTING QB) out of their offensive game plan on Monday Night Football. When a team feels that their best offensive strategy is to have the quarterback contribute as little as possible, their QB isn’t very good.

30. Derek Carr – Oakland Raiders – Power Ranking Score: 162.3

Well, that didn’t last very long. The Raiders looked much improved in their first victory of the year against the Chiefs a couple of weeks ago and then got absolutely demolished by the Rams the very next week. Carr is still a promising QB to build around, but he’s not good enough yet to succeed with that poor of supporting cast.

29. Josh McCown – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Power Ranking Score: 185.8 (-4)

I’ll say one thing for McCown, he’s not afraid to throw the ball down the field to his big and talented WRs. It’s a formula he first turned to in Chicago last year when he filled in for Jay Cutler. Unfortunately, McCown is going to have to prove he can do more than throw up long balls to stay a starting NFL QB.
