What Is The Value Of Stedman Bailey, Kendall Wright, and Donte Moncrief going forward?

In week 13 there were 41 NFL players who scored at least 20 fantasy points in PPR leagues. This was a very explosive week for fantasy, with a lot of players blowing up and having big games. I’m going to discuss three wide receivers who were amongst those 41 players who had a monster fantasy week, and help you decide if any of these players would be a fit for your fantasy team.

Stedman Bailey, WR, St. Louis Rams (Owned in 13.1% of ESPN Leagues)

During the last two weeks, Bailey has accumulated 12 receptions for 189 yards and a TD. Bailey, a 3rd round draft pick in 2013, was touted as having the best hands on the team during training camp. He has an excellent match up this week against Washington Redskins, which could allow him to repeat his previous two stellar performances.

Bailey is worth starting this week as a flex, and he should be on a roster in every fantasy league that has 12 teams or more. The concern with Bailey is that he is only playing 60% of the team’s snaps, which cuts into his opportunities. Another concern is that the Rams have had a carousel of wide receivers tease us during the season with excellent performances and then drop out of fantasy relevance either due to injury or lack of performance. I still recommend adding Bailey to your roster, and if you are in a pinch at flex or even at receiver, then it would be ok to start him this week due to his juicy match up against the Redskins.

Kendall Wright WR Tennessee Titans (Owned in 54.1% of ESPN Leagues)

In week 13, Wright shredded the Texans for 7 receptions 132 yards and a TD. Wright has been quiet this season with only one game over 100 yards this season. Also, he may have been dumped on your waiver wire due to only having one game with five or more catches in the last five weeks. With teammate Justin Hunter placed on IR, Wright may receive extra targets going forward, increasing his value in PPR leagues. Wright is an intriguing play at flex, because he has the ability to be a PPR monster depending on how the QB is playing that day. Last year he was able to rake in 94 receptions with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback.

I would add Wright to my fantasy team if he was available on waivers. He provides extra depth and another option for your line up at the flex position. Wright is a safe option for your fantasy team because he will get extra targets since Justin Hunter is out. He has a really good schedule for the remainder of the season playing the Giants, Jets and Jaguars. Wright’s only drawback is that he doesn’t have a reliable QB to throw him the ball. Both Zach Mettenberger and Jake Locker have poor accuracy and could possibly bring down Wright’s fantasy value. Even with the mediocre quarterback play, Wright is going to be a dependable flex play for the rest of the season in PPR leagues.

Donte Moncrief WR Indianapolis Colts (Owned in 5.3% of ESPN Leagues)

Moncrief went off last week with three receptions for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns, scoring a grand total of 28 fantasy points. Moncrief has passed Hakeem Nicks on the depth chart, and it looks like it is going to be his job to keep. Andrew Luck is going to give Moncrief a lot of opportunities to catch the deep ball. Having an accurate quarterback like Luck is very valuable to a young wide receiver’s fantasy value. Moncrief is another talented wide receiver from this year’s rookie class, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he blossoms into a stud wide receiver.

He would be a great stash to add on the end of your bench for the remainder of the season. I wouldn’t feel good about starting him in your line up this week, because I would like to see if last week was a fluke. With it being the first round of the fantasy playoffs in most leagues, it is very hard to make gambles with your line ups. I would like to see how Moncrief is used this week against Cleveland before placing him in any of my line ups. If he gets a lot of targets and has a good game against Cleveland, which is a tough match up, then I wouldn’t be against starting Moncrief as a flex for the remainder of the season. He has a very promising match up against Dallas during week 16, which is usually the championship game in most fantasy leagues. I would definitely pick him up off waivers to stash him at the end of your bench, just in case he blows up and you can insert him into your lineup at the end of the season.
