So, if you haven’t noticed, the new Foot Locker advertisements featuring NBA stars have been quite spectacular.
We’ve seen an offended James Harden, thoughtful John Wall and now a reflective Chris Paul just in time for the holiday season.
Big Chris sees little Chris–blissfully happy to have gotten a new pair of Air Jordan’s–and begins to think about his own childhood.
That’s when he remembers…
“I had one dream, and one dream only. And that was to be able to fly.”
Before his mama interrupts “You’re dream was to be able to talk to animals.”
So begins an endearing mother-son bickerfest that is–I assume–supposed to make Paul less millionaire-ish and more like you and me. Of course, this is done while he stands in front of a mini-pool-sized wreath and a tree more decorated than Bill Russell’s fingers.
Then comes the bombshell.
Paul had a guinea pig named “Mr. Peeps” that he wanted to talk to.
Shouldn’t a pet named Peeps be, like, a chicken? Or a food-dyed marshmallow? Anyway, that’s the commercial. I’m the jerk who tried to dissect the thing when all it is is something you may or may not find humorous. The point is, just go to Kids Foot Locker and buy stuff.
