Football fans everywhere have always wanted there to be year-long football. Although this won’t ever actually happen, another new league will be bringing us football during the spring and it’s called Major League Football (MLFB).
The MLFB is due to debut in the spring of 2016 and the first thing you see upon visiting the site is this:
"MLFB is the answer to your demands for a spring professional football league that’s explosive, innovative, and focused on the fan experience."
The league promises to be the fastest football you’ve seen and to raise the numbers of plays per game, which would be a lot if that actually happens.
There’s a six and a half minute video at the bottom that says there are three principles on which MLFB was founded; Dynamic, disruptive and community-centric. The league seems to be almost based on second chances for guys who may not have made it at the NFL level, but are still wanting to play the game and make an impact in the areas surrounding the teams.
Jerry Vainisi, former Chicago Bears G.M. and Lions V.P. of player personnel will be the league’s CEOs. Vainisi also helped launch the NFL Europe league over 20 years ago.
