Anywhere but here seems to be the mindset of Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden when it comes to quarterback Robert Griffin III, whose presence is one that Gruden would like out of the nation’s capital after this season.

The sand that is in Robert Griffin III’s hour glass as a member of the Washington Redskins is rapidly running out.
A report from the Washington Post suggests that first-year coach Jay Gruden wants RGIII gone from the Redskins after this season, as Gruden feels that the third-year quarterback, once considered the untouchable cornerstone of the franchise, is less concerned about improving as a player than he is when it comes to his focusing on endorsements.
The relationship between the two was doomed almost from the start, as Gruden, who was the offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals before taking the Redskins job in January, had his doubts about Griffin’s potential. Still, he named Griffin the undisputed starter, but has grown weary of hopes that Griffin would turn the corner as a professional both on and off the field.
Gruden pointed to Griffin’s poor decision making and inability to adjust to becoming a pocket passer. The issues extended to Gruden’s belief that Griffin — who cost the Redskins three first-round picks and a second rounder to the St. Louis Rams in order to draft him — had instead focused his attention to chatting on social media instead of owning up to the reasons that led to his being benched.
Getting rid of RGIII won’t be easy, considering that owner Daniel Snyder remains strongly in his corner. Either way, the offseason at Redskins Park will be anything but boring.
