Texans’ Jadeveon Clowney To Have Season-Ending Knee Surgery
By Sam Richmond
Houston Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney will have knee surgery and miss the remainder of the season, the team announced Thursday.
Jadeveon Clowney’s rookie season came to a disappointing end on Thursday, as Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien announced that the defensive end will have surgery on his right knee and be placed on the injured reserve.

Clowney tore his meniscus during Houston’s season-opener and had surgery that forced him to miss a significant portion of the season. Clowney appeared in only three more games before receiving this latest opinion from Dr. James Andrews that another surgery is necessary.
Both O’Brien and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel spoke of the need for surgery and praised Clowney’s ability after the announcement.
Clowney entered the NFL with a great deal of hype and it’s unfortunate that injury prevented him from really having a chance to meet expectations. His season ends with him recording just seven tackles and zero sacks.
The Texans selected Clowney with the No. 1 pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.
