Karlos Williams will miss the ACC Championship Game as Florida State’s starting running back is out with a concussion.

Williams is second on the team with 609 yards and leads the team with 10 rushing scores.

His production has dropped in recent weeks with only 89 yards rushing in the team’s last three games and hasn’t had more than nine carries in any of those games as he’s lost playing time to freshman sensation Dalvin Cook who leads the team in rushing.

Cook has been coming on strong in recent weeks as Williams lost his place as the team’s best back. Cook has been a big-play back and is averaging 1.5 yards more per carry than Williams this season. The 5.9 yards per carry Cook is averaging has been boosted in recent weeks, including his 144-yard performance in the win against Florida which represented a new career-high for the 6-1, 200 pound Miami native.

Florida State has the nation’s 105th rushing offense with 131.2 yards per game but with Cook getting a bigger look this week against Georgia Tech with Williams out, he could top that number by himself, provided Jameis Winston doesn’t turn the ball over and cut short too many possessions.

No. 4 Florida State kicks off against No. 11 Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship Game at 8:00 p.m. ET from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.
