It was the fourth time the team met with the commission in the past 18 months.

The planned outfield changes revealed in the renderings included some decreased signage and a slight relocation of the scoreboard.

From Crain’s:

"The latest proposal, shown in the renderings above, strikes one script advertising sign approved for left center field, shrinks and moves farther south a new video board in right field and moves a video board in left field 30 feet east of its previously approved spot.Among other changes approved by the panel today was raising the height of two new light standards beyond the bleachers to be even with the grandstand roof level. The panel also approved the construction of two new elevators in the left field and right field bleachers and slight modifications to a new planned western gate that opens into the triangle property adjacent to the park."

The changes to the proposal were important.

The Chicago Cubs made the adjustments in hopes of receiving a $75 million tax credit from the National Park Service.

Of course, the planned renovations total $375 million, so there will still be plenty of money left to account for.
