Most recently, Romo has been dealing with back issues that were a concern over the offseason. Romo was dealing with the back issues well, until a bit hit re-injured the back and forced him to miss time.
However, Tony Romo has been dealing with more than the transverse process fractures.
According to the quarterback, he has also been playing with broken ribs for the past two months, though he is unsure of when exactly the injury occurred.
“It’ll be nice when it’s just about the back [surgery] instead of all the other junk,” Romo said, via Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com. “I took a [pain-killing] shot this week. I didn’t last week in the Eagles game, and that was a poor decision I think.”
Romo believes the rib injury came against either the St. Louis Rams on Sept. 21 or against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 5.
Dallas got a big win over the Chicago Bears on Thursday night and now sit at No. 5 in the NFC Playoff standings, so Romo may need to deal with the pain throughout the postseason.
As long as DeMarco Murray continues to run wild, Romo will be able to avoid being forced to carry the team.
