College Football Playoff Rankings: Projected Final Playoff Rankings
By Jack Crosby
With championship Saturday now in the books, we are well on our way to the first final four with the inaugural College Football Playoff almost set to get underway.
This is the first season with the College Football Playoff in place, and with all the conference championship games out of the way now, it’s time to find out who will be in the first ever College Football Playoff.
On Friday the Oregon Ducks made sure that they would secure a spot in the final College Football Playoff grouping as they trounced Arizona in the Pac-12 Championship Game, the only team that had beaten them this season. The Ducks, led by probably Heisman winner Marcus Mariota, have been maybe the hottest team in the country down the stretch.
Then early on Saturday, the TCU Horned Frogs made a bold statement about keeping themselves in the mix as well, easily taking care of Iowa State and passing the “eye test” with a 55-3 win.
However, Ohio State and their drubbing of Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game will make for a very difficult decision.
In the end, it might come down to TCU not playing in a conference title game.
As for top-ranked Alabama, well, they had no problem blowing the doors off of Missouri and should be sitting firmly at the top still.
Florida State was able to take care of business as well in the ACC, despite an amazing effort from Georgia Tech.
Whatever the case may be, the final rankings will be released on Sunday at 12:30 PM ET, but here is a look at what they will probably look like as we get set for the first ever College Football Playoff.
Sugar Bowl
Rose Bowl
