Georgia Tech running back Synjyn Days opened the scoring at the ACC championship with a 1-yard touchdown run. So starting the second half that way made sense.
Synjyn Days, a senior running back for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, scored three touchdowns in the team’s 12 regular-season games.
So of course he’s scored three touchdowns in the first three quarters of Saturday’s ACC championship at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., right?
Suffice it to say that the Florida State Seminoles may not have been expecting such a heavy dose of Days.
He scored his third touchdown midway through the third quarter to tie the game 28-28. The 1-yard run wasn’t just his third touchdown—it was his third 1-yard touchdown:
Days wasn’t really part of the Tech attack until late October, when Zach Laskey went down with an injury for three games.

Days, a converted quarterback, stepped in for Laskey and rushed for 110 yards against Pittsburgh, 147 against Virginia and 157 against NC State.
Laskey returned on Nov. 15 against Clemson, but Days still had 36 carries and 183 yards over the final two regular season games.
Through three quarters of the ACC title game, Days had 63 yards on 18 carries, while Laskey had 11 carries for 40 yards.
Florida State regained the lead late in the quarter on a 33-yard field goal from Roberto Aguayo.
