Georgia Tech got off to a solid start in the ACC championship and led Florida State 21-14. Then Jameis Winston-to-Rashad Greene happened … twice.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets took a 21-14 lead midway through the second quarter of the ACC championship game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., as their triple-option attack was running all over the Florida State Seminoles.
So Jameis Winston and Rashad Greene decided to fly over the Yellow Jackets defense instead.
With 5:40 to go in the first half, Winston found a wide-open Greene down the right side for a 44-yard touchdown:
After forcing a Georgia Tech punt, Winston and the Seminoles got the ball back at their own 25-yard line.
Winston hit everybody on the drive—Nick O’Leary for 29 yards, Dalvin Cook for seven, Travis Rudolph twice for a total of 20.
With the ball at the Georgia Tech 9, Winston looked for his favorite target, Greene, and found him in the left side of the end zone for the duo’s second scoring hookup:
At the half, Georgia Tech had run for 214 yards.
