17. (TIE) Wes Welker, New England Patriots: 71 Points (ACTIVE)

In general no one forgets about Wes Welker, but many people do not include him in their ‘top wide receivers’ discussions. But one look at his career accomplishments demands that he at least gets mentioned in discussions of greatness. He’s been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL in recent years and has topped the 100-catch mark an amazing five times in his career.

Welker’s six-year stretch in New England was one of the best stretches in the history of the wide receiver position. He led the league in receptions three times and was named to five consecutive Pro Bowls and topped 1000 receiving yards five times. He was also named First Team All-Pro twice during that stretch. Those statistics, no matter the context or quarterback throwing the ball, cannot be ignored. Welker has made his mark on NFL history and deserves his spot on this list.
