The first college football playoff announcement was made on Sunday, and it was filled with controversy. No. 1 Alabama will play No. 4 Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl. No. 2 Oregon Ducks will play No. 3 Florida State in the Rose Bowl.
The winners of those two bowl games will play for the National Championship at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
It also saw No. 3 TCU drop to No. 6, leaving them and Baylor, two Big 12 teams, out of the college football playoffs.
Here is how some reacted.
Big 10 Football is such a joke. But the Big 12 did this to itself.

Lack of conference championship game may have hurt Big 12. Have to look into having one in 2015.

All that debate about TCU and Baylor and neither gets in.

It is really hard to understand how TCU smashes Iowa State and falls from 3 to 6 in CFPSC Poll.

If Baylor or TCU’s jerseys said Texas or Oklahoma, wouldn’t have been left out

Big 12 doesn’t have title game plays 9 conference games. SEC, B1G & ACC play 8 conference games + title game (9th league game)

Big 12 told the committee to pick a champion. So they picked a champion....not a co-champion.

Big 12 better go get two more teams if they want to be taken seriously.

So let the Big 12 expansion watch begin.

Herbstreit is right. Baylor finishing 5th sends a message to beef up non-conference schedules.
— Stewart Mandel (@slmandel) December 7, 2014
And just to add insult to injury for Baylor, it DID finish ahead of TCU.
