The Philadelphia Eagles are losing to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon, and they’re getting some below average play from running back LeSean McCoy who has under 50 yards on the day.
Still, McCoy managed to pass the Eagle’s all-time leading rushing mark on Sunday.
The previous mark was held by Wilbert Montgomery with 6,538 yards. Montgomery played for the Eagles from 1977 yo 1984, setting the record in 100 games. McCoy has played considerably less seasons and broke the mark in just 87 games.
McCoy is in his sixth season and only 26 years old, he could extend that record by a considerable margin over the remainder of his careers.
There seems to be some confusion from some media outlets though, with SportsCenter not only tweeting out that McCoy beat Harold Carmichael’s record, but misspelling his name. Carmichael does hold an Eagles all-time record, just for receiving yards and not rushing yards.
