Seattle Seahawks held a candid interview with former teammate Michael Robinson and revealed his thoughts on what’s left his career and his chances at the Hall of Fame.

It’s almost impossible to get a normal interview with Marshawn Lynch, unless apparently you’ve played with Lynch in the past. For the first time in recent memory, Lynch sat down and offered more than ‘Yes’, ‘No’ or an answer intended to promote a sponsor or a charity event. For once, Lynch opened up about himself and his career.

Former Seattle Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson had the honors, which might explain why the famously loyal Lynch gave a legitimate interview at NFL.com. It began with a simple explanation as to why he remains mum with the media.

“I ain’t got nothing to say,” Lynch said in reference to his treatment of the media.  “I just wanna play football.”

Of course, such a move could have ramifications beyond his career. Lynch noted those are the same guys and gals who vote on the NFL Hall of Fame inductees.

“You know who votes for that,” Lynch quipped. “They don’t seem to … see eye to eye with me — which is cool. And if I’m not, (expletive), I’ll still live.”

That’s a predictable response from the guy who has often contemplated retirement in the last couple years. Even with the attitude though, Lynch is a borderline Hall of Famer at best. As Pro Football Talk notes, Lynch is 39th on the all-time rushing list, which is hardly a lock for Canton.

Not only will Lynch have to play a few more years at a high level, but he’ll have to avoid injury and possibly mend some relationships along the way. It’s no wonder he prefers to think of life without a golden jacket.
