St. Louis Rams Coach Jeff Fisher Gets A+ For Trolling Of Redskins
By Phil Watson
In March 2012, the St. Louis Rams got four draft picks from the Washington Redskins in exchange for the one used to take Robert Griffin III. Jeff Fisher remembered.
Jeff Fisher wasn’t the coach of the St. Louis Rams in 2012, when they traded the No. 2 overall pick in that year’s draft to the Washington Redskins for three first-round picks and a second-rounder.
But he reaps the rewards of that deal.
Washington took Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III with that No. 2 overall pick.
But when the Rams visited the Redskins on Sunday, Fisher sent six captains out for the pregame coin toss: cornerback Janoris Jenkins, defensive tackle Michael Brockers, running back Zac Stacy, wide receiver Stedman Bailey, tackle Greg Robinson and linebacker Alec Ogletree.
Those were the six players on Sunday’s active roster for the Rams acquired as a result of the trade that brought Griffin to Washington.

Three of those players are starters on the St. Louis defense—Jenkins, Brockers and Ogletree.
That would be the same defense that held the Redskins to zero points, the Rams’ second consecutive shutout.
But the Redskins did use Griffin on Sunday … briefly. He mopped up in relief of starter Colt McCoy after McCoy went down with a neck strain late in the game.
