There were reports earlier in the season that the Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies could be headed towards a renewal of their suspended rivalry in a bowl game this year. There was also a rumor that the SEC and the Aggies would nix that from happening.
It got a bit closer to becoming reality on Sunday though, when the 6-6 Texas Longhorns announced that they would be playing in the Texas Bowl.
Their opponent for that game will come from the SEC, but has yet to be determined.
RT @Longhorn_FB: Happy to announce we've accepted bid to play in the @TexasBowl on Dec. 29. Opponent is from @SEC, but still TBA.

It is possible that A&M could end up or at the very least is being considered for that game. The Longhorns won the last regular season clash between the two before A&M left for the SEC. You’d think the Aggies would like the opportunity to correct hat before bailing as the winners till who knows when.
The thought process from the SEC and A&M is that there is too much to lose and not enough to gain in the match up.
