Teddy Bridgewater slipped all the way to the 32nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft before the Minnesota Vikings traded up to draft him. It has ended up being a very good move for the Vikings, and they very well might have found their franchise quarterback of the future. He has done an excellent job for the most part when on the field, and has suffered through some injury issues as well.
Head coach Mike Zimmer has been very happy with the play that he has seen from Bridgewater, and went so far as to say that the franchise was Teddy’s moving forward.
Coach Zimmer: "This franchise is Teddy's."

Bridgewater has played in 10 regular season games this year, and has been a pleasant surprise for Minnesota fans after suffering through Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder over the last few years. He has thrown for 2,136 yards, 10 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Those numbers aren’t bad at all, and they have shown a chunk of his full potential.
It was surprising to see him slip as far as he did in the NFL Draft, especially due to the fact that he was expected to be drafted number one overall at one point last year. He didn’t have great workout numbers throughout the draft process, but that should never be taken more seriously than his play on the field.
All of that being said, the Vikings are a very happy franchise with Bridgewater under center. He has shown a lot of talent and is without a doubt one of the most talented rookies in the league. Earning words from a head coach like what Zimmer said today take a lot of hard work, and that is exactly what Bridgewater has been doing this season.
