The Arizona Cardinals cornerback was carted off during the victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday
The Arizona Cardinals are still tied for the best record in the NFL and have the best record in the NFC despite injury after injury. On Sunday they threw another injury on the pile as cornerback Antonio Cromartie appeared to injure his Achilles but Sunday night and Monday morning the injury was deemed not as serious as initially thought.

Antonio Cromartie’s injury per Profootballtalk.com is not as severe as many first thought when he went down in the second half of the 17-14 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The first thought was it was an Achilles tear. However, in his post-game press conference, Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said that his perineal tendon was what was being looked at and would be day-to-day.
Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said as recently as this morning on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM in Phoenix that the medical staff was currently working on him and he repeated basically what Arians said. It wasn’t as serious as they first thought but they don’t know exactly what they were looking at yet.
Cromartie has been a decent addition to a very good Arizona Cardinals defense. He has a couple of down games but overall has made his mark. He has 35 tackles and three interceptions so far in 2014. With as many players that the defense has already lost this season they can ill-afford to lose a guy like Cromartie.
Now the bigger question is if Cromartie is day-to-day, how many actual days does he miss? The Cardinals have a short week this week as they face the St. Louis Rams in St. Louis on Thursday night.
