The NFL‘s Arizona Cardinals donated $10,000 to the foundation for Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry.

Sometimes it is good to remember that football is just a game, and the NFL exists entirely as entertainment. Rivalries and bad blood on the field don’t have to lead to the same off the field. The Arizona Cardinals appear to understand that.

Before Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona head coach Bruce Arians wore a “Be Bold. Be Brave. Be Berry” shirt in honor of Chief’s safety Eric Berry. That wasn’t the only move by the team on Sunday to support the Kansas City star.

Eric Berry, as you may remember, was placed on the Non-Football Injury list in Late November when a mass was discovered in his chest. It is believed that he has Lymphoma.

Arizona has no past affiliation with Berry. He is originally from Atlanta, went to college at Tennessee, and was drafted by the Chiefs in 2010. Their decision to donate money to Berry’s foundation was entirely done to honor a playing that if fighting a form of cancer.

Berry is only 25, and was an All-Pro safety last season.
