Brandon Marshall broke two ribs and suffered a collapsed lung after taking a hit in last week’s game to the Dallas Cowboys and was hospitalized five days before being released on Monday and as expected the veteran receiver has played his last down for the Bears this year after he was placed on injured reserve.
Bears placed WR Brandon Marshall, who was released from hospital Sunday, on season-ending IR.

This puts an end to a trying season for Marshall who has battled injuries throughout the season and the Bears were one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL with a 5-8 record. Marshall’s string of seven straight 1,000 yard seasons also will come to an end as he finishes the year with 61 receptions for 721 yards and eight touchdowns.
His reception and yardage totals are the lowest numbers since his rookie year in 2006.
In his first two seasons in Chicago, Marshall averaged 109 receptions for 1,401.5 yards and 11.5 touchdowns.
With Marshall out of the lineup this means Alshon Jeffery will be the No. 1 receiver with Josh Morgan and Marquess Wilson serving as the NO. 2 and No. 3 receivers and tight end Martellus Bennett and running back Matt Forte should see an uptick in their targets with Marshall out, so adjust your fantasy lineups accordingly.
