After a huge win over the Boston Celtics on Monday, Washington Wizards guard John Wall reminded us all that some things are more important than basketball.

The Washington Wizards notched another win on Monday night, this time it was a hard fought victory over the Boston Celtics in two overtimes, 133-132. However after the game, John Wall was not ecstatic and boasting, rather it was a somber mood for him, despite the huge win.

Wall had just lost a close friend of his prior to the game that was battling cancer, and well, when he gave his usual post game interview after it was all said and done, he didn’t talk about the 26 points that he scored, the seven rebounds or the 17 assists that he amazingly dished out.

No, after the game Wall made it a point to talk about the friend that he had lost before the game, as well as what he plans to do for her family.

You have to give credit to Wall for even talking to the media after all the he had gone through and it’s actually amazing that he made it that far through the interview before he broke down. Most of us can only hope to be that strong when we lose a loved one, whether it’s a friend or family member.
