The New York Rangers made a 15-year-old’s dream come true on Monday, signing the boy with cancer to a one-day contract.

The New York Rangers made the best acquisition of the 2014-15 NHL season on Monday, signing 15-year-old Chris Falzone to a one day contract.

Falzone was diagnosed with cancer during his freshman year of high school and told by doctors he could never play hockey again. However, after therapy and spending time in a semi body cast, Falzone overcame the odds and was allowed to resume hockey activities.

Falzone took the ice with the Rangers on Monday prior to the team’s contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Kudos to the Rangers. This is obviously a great thing for them to do, as they helped create a moment for Falzone that he will never forget.

Simply put, stories like these are why we all love sports.
