2. J.J. Watt, DE, Houston Texans

J.J. Watt has been one of the favorites to win the MVP award for quite some time now, and he is right behind the first place candidate. Not only has he been a huge difference maker for the Houston Texans’ defense, he has also caught three touchdown passes on the season. There aren’t many players across the league that are capable of making their presence known on a game like Watt does.

Watt has recorded 14.5 sacks so far this season to go along with 58 total tackles, three forced fumbles, eight defenses passes, an interception, and a defensive touchdown. Those numbers speak for themselves and prove that Watt should definitely be this high on the list.

There is a good chance that he could find a way to come back and win the award, but he is going to have to put up big numbers over the final three weeks. Houston is back over .500 which is going to be huge for his MVP chances, and he has been a huge part of why they have a winning record. Watt has been having a historic season, and he could end up getting recognized by being named the Most Valuable Player.
