If given the choice, Charles Woodson would rather Jim Harbaugh coach his alma mater rather than his NFL team.

Should he choose to play another season next year, there’s a very good chance that Oakland Raiders defensive back Charles Woodson could have Jim Harbaugh as his head coach. However, if it were up to him, that’s not what he wants to see.

Appearing on the Rich Eisen Show Tuesday, Woodson made it known that he would rather Harbaugh choose to coach his alma mater, the Michigan Wolverines.

Now over the course of the past few weeks and months, there have been reports that both could happen.

The Michigan rumors date back to about two months ago when it was clearly evident that the Wolverines would be parting ways with Brady Hoke at some point, which they ultimately did after the season concluded.

However, the word that Harbuagh could land with the Raiders via trade is picking up some serious steam as of late. The Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets are also rumored to be in the market to trade for the coach, however given how much it’s said he and his family love the bay area, Oakland would be the most possible destination.

But we know now that if it were up to Woodson, he wants to see Harbaugh accomplish something that hasn’t happened at Michigan since he played there, and that’s win a national championship.
