7. LaDainian Tomlinson
LaDainian Tomlinson is easily the best running back since Barry Sanders retired. Adrian Peterson is breathing down his neck, but Tomlinson has already re-wrote the record books and revolutionized the running back position.
In his first eight seasons in the league, Tomlinson never rushed for less than 1,110 yards and never had less than 367 receiving yards. Tomlinson is the reason why so many NFL teams value players like Jamaal Charles, LeSean McCoy, and Le’Veon Bell, all players who can catch and run out of the backfield as well as they run between the tackles.
In 2006, Tomlinson scored 31 touchdowns, which broke the record touchdowns in a season. He was also named NFL MVP for his play in that season.
