Time Magazine has narrowed the field of candidates of 50 for Time’s Person Of The Year to just eight. That list includes some notable figures like Vladimir Putin, Taylor Swift, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Alibaba founder Jack Ma, Iraqi Kurdish president Masoud Barzani, the Ferguson protestors, and the Ebola caregivers.
It also includes NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, you know the same person who has come under fire for his inconsistent and less than stellar disciplinary measures in response to the NFL’s domestic violence issue, highlighted by cases involving former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
Wait till you read TIME’s reason for including Goodell:
"“One of the most powerful men in American sports, the NFL commissioner came under fire for his handling of domestic-violence incidences among players.”"
Hard to believe that they gave Goodell such an honor, one that many would likely find dubious. Especially considering the explanation consists of him simply coming under fire for his handling of a situation and not for his stellar composure or great resolve in the face of a crisis.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
