The St. Louis Rams went on the road to play the Washington Redskins, and before the game Rams head coach Jeff Fisher appeared to troll the Redskins. For the coin toss he sent out players like cornerback Janoris Jenkins, defensive tackle Michael Brockers, running back Zac Stacy, wide receiver Stedman Bailey, tackle Greg Robinson and linebacker Alec Ogletree.

It might be a random list of names to some people, to NFL fans those names are the players the Rams drafted using the picks the Redskins sent them in the Robert Griffin III deal. That earned Fisher praise for trolling the Redskins to a master level, but he denies doing any trolling.

“No, not at all,” Fisher told reporters on Monday. “No we’re not like that, we don’t do that.”

Then Fisher came right back and said that the thought process behind the trolling conclusions is the same logic he used to pick the players. saying it “made too much sense to us to go ahead and recognize the guys that probably wouldn’t be here had it not been for that trade.”

“So we wanted to do that before the game. It was a memory that will last a lifetime, so it was a good idea. I’ve sent other people out there for different reasons as well — glad you guys all noticed it too by the way.”

So you meant to do it, you just didn’t know it would be trolling the Redskins?

Right.
