Brandon Marshall Says Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints Should Be Taken Off Monday Night Football
By Sam Richmond
Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall says that the Bears and New Orleans Saints shouldn’t be on Monday Night Football because of their poor play this season.
Entering the season, a Chicago Bears-New Orleans Saints Monday night matchup would have intrigued just about every NFL fan.

However, both teams have struggled mightily this season, with each possessing just five wins through 13 games.
Bears receiver Brandon Marshall appears to be among those that aren’t too pumped about the game, even going as far as to suggest the game be taken off ESPN’s primetime slot.
From ESPN Chicago’s Michael C. Wright:
"Folks bill the upcoming matchup between the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints on “Monday Night Football” as the Underachiever Bowl, and receiver Brandon Marshall doesn’t disagree with that description of these two disappointing clubs. In fact, Marshall believes the Bears and Saints don’t deserve the national stage of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”“Yeah, they should take us both off ‘Monday Night Football’ right now,” Marshall said Monday during “The Brandon Marshall Show” on ESPN 1000."
If that’s not an indictment on what the Saints and Bears have done this season, I don’t know what is.
Unfortunately for Marshall and football fans everywhere, ESPN can’t flex Monday night games, so we’re all stuck with this battle of five win teams.
Still, this game actually does have significant value for New Orleans. The Saints play in the terrible NFC South, so their fives wins has them tied for first place right now. Marshall’s Bears don’t have similar luck, as they are currently in the cellar of the NFC North.
