The Los Angeles Dodgers made their first big move of the MLB offseason Wednesday, trading with the Philadelphia Phillies for shortstop Jimmy Rollins.
J-Roll is now a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers traded for the Philadelphia Phillies legend Wednesday, according to Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly.

While Rollins is no longer the elite player he once was and hasn’t been for years, the 36-year-old can still be a helpful piece for a Dodgers team looking to compete for a World Series.
Last season, Rollins batted .243 with 17 home runs and 55 RBI. He also stole 28 bases.
This trade appears to be a win-for-win both teams. The Phillies’ days of contending are long over and it’s time for them to get ride of some of their more expensive players in an attempt to rebuild. Rollins is set to make $11 million next season.
Still, it will be strange seeing Rollins in another uniform. He’s been with the Phillies for his entire 14-year career. He’s been the face of the franchise for years and in a perfect world he would have been able to retire with them. Instead, Rollins will head west and hope to help the Dodgers win a title.
Rollins had to waive to his no-trade clause to make the deal happen.
