The Los Angeles Dodgers are sending Dee Gordon to the Miami Marlins for a package that is believe to be built around Andrew Heaney.
On the heels of trading for shortstop Jimmy Rollins, the Los Angeles Dodgers have made another major move Wednesday.
Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal is reporting the team has moved Dee Gordon to the Miami Marlins.

ESPN’s Buster Olney broke the previous news that the deal was close and suggested pitcher Andrew Heaney would be involved

Gordon is coming off a great season with Los Angeles, batting .289, scoring 92 runs and swiping 64 bags. Heaney made just seven appearances last season with Miami, posting a 5.83 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. However, he’s a top prospect and is a nice grab for Los Angeles.
It’s an interesting turn for the Dodgers, considering general manager Farhan Zaidi said the following just one day ago about Gordon’s trade status:
Zaidi on Dee Gordon: "He's a cost-controlled All-Star 2B.. we are not dangling him. He is our 2B."

But perhaps the trade for Rollins changed things for Los Angeles… or they were always looking at moving Gordon and simply denied it because that’s what teams do when addressing trade rumors.
