Today as the NFL owners met in a Dallas area hotel they voted to ratify the league’s new personal conduct policy. After several instances this season and in particular the Ray Rice case, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell vowed to bring the policy current to fit the standards the NFL expects of the players.
The NFL Players Association better known as the NFLPA is expected to challenge this ruling as they feel it should be subject to the collective bargaining process. The league and the NFLPA has been at odds over this as the NFLPA would like to see Roger Goodell lay down some of his control over these matters.

SportsCenter is reporting that the new policy has been said to remove Goodell from the initial disciplinary hearings. The NFLPA would rather see Goodell lay down his power to hear the appeals than the initial part of this process. Goodell and the league is said to want to dig in and keep the commissioner as the main person to hear the final appeals. We will be watching this closely to see if the league and the NFLPA can come to any sort of an agreement on this.
