The Washington Redskins are a mess, but that’s not stopping Jay Gruden from starting Colt McCoy instead of going back to Robert Griffin III on Sunday.
Robert Griffin III isn’t the starting quarterback in Washington at the moment, which is something that seems so casual at this point that it’s not even worth mentioning. The man who used to be a Ferrari is officially heading to the scrap pile, or at least back to the garage, to make sure his talents can be salvaged in some way.

Colt McCoy is the big winner in all of this as despite having Kirk Cousins on the roster, a guy who the Redskins refused to trade in case they needed to replace Robert Griffin III, the former Longhorns gunslinger is getting another start this Sunday against the New York Giants.
According to the Washington Post, it will be Colt McCoy starting on Sunday against the Giants, so long as he gets clearance to do so from a doctor.
"“We’re still waiting on full clearance for Colt,” Gruden said. “Colt had a good day today and so long as he goes through the proper, necessary precautions and makes sure he gets cleared, Colt will be the starter.”"
It seems that health permitting, Colt McCoy is going to be the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins for the remainder of the season. This doesn’t mean Robert Griffin III is going to be out in Washington, as the Redskins best bet is to sit him for a season and find a veteran to start ahead of him and show him the ropes, but it looks like his season is going to come to a premature end for another consecutive year.
