Ilya Bryzgalov T-shirt pays tribute to his talks about the universe, and it’s awesome

Ilya Bryzgalov has finally orbited his way back to the NHL; the Anaheim Ducks have signed him to a $2.9 million one-year contract to back up starter Frederik Andersen.

Originally selected by Anaheim in the second round of the 2000 Entry Draft, Bryzgalov has floated around the league; after being picked up off waivers by the
Phoenix
Arizona Coyotes in 2007, he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in 2011, bought out in 2013, then split between the Edmonton Oilers and the Minnesota Wild during the 2013-2014 season.
A PTO contract signed during the Wild’s 2014 training camp failed to earn Bryzgalov a permanent spot on the Central Division franchise’s roster, though — so he’s come full circle, re-signing with his first NHL franchise nearly halfway through the season.
Although he’s occasionally a brilliant goaltender, though, Bryz is far better known for his…. ah… off-ice opinions, which include some pretty deep musings about the ‘humongous big universe’ and the sanity of defensemen.
He’s maybe the most positive figure in professional sports and obviously extremely aware of the
world
universe around him, so it’s no shock this TeeSpring campaign has already met it’s goal. You don’t even have to cheer for a team he’s played for — Ilya Bryzgalov is well worth displaying across any hockey fan’s torso.
The campaign ends on December 15th, so if you want one, now is the time to get it.
(If you miss out, though, there’s always this delightful screen print of John Scott’s ‘I scored a goal’ face, and it’s arguably even better than this.)
