By Evan Massey
5. John Elway
1983-1998
51,475 Yards, 300 Touchdowns, 226 Interceptions
The Denver Broncos were fortunate enough that John Elway didn’t want to play with the Baltimore Colts and demanded a trade which is how Denver got him in the first place. He ended up being one of the top quarterbacks to ever play the game, and really put Denver on the map during his tenure there. Elway was a dominant quarterback and is one of the best playmakers and leaders that the game has seen.
Elway ended up playing in nine Pro Bowls throughout his career, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004. He won two Super Bowls in five appearances, and also won the 1987 MVP award and the 1998 Super Bowl MVP as well.
Denver was led to a 162-89-1 record with Elway as their quarterback, and he also led them to a 14-7 record in the playoffs. He played his best season in 1993 when he threw for 4,030 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
