The St. Louis Rams want to bring back former number one NFL draft pick Sam Bradford next season.

Sam Bradford was at one point expected to be the franchise savior for the St. Louis Rams, but things have gone terribly for him so far, Whether it was his early career inconsistency or now the two torn ACL’s in as many seasons, many don’t expect him to return and live up to the franchise savior that he was pegged to be when he was drafted.

There was no denying that Bradford took a step forward last season before the injury, and that he looked even better prior to this season’s injury. Despite the improvement that he showed, it is extremely hard for a player to come back the same after a second torn ACL. Bradford has still been working hard to get back on the field, and it appears that the Rams would like to bring him back next year.

St. Louis isn’t really looking to move forward with Shaun Hill or Austin Davis at quarterback, and Bradford is still a good option if he can stay healthy and come back like he used to be. Bradford’s arm improved a lot and his decision making improved even more over the past couple of seasons.

At 27 years of age, there is still time for him to get back on the field and turn his career back around. Throughout his career, he has thrown for 11,065 yards, 59 touchdowns, and 38 interceptions, and simply needs to catch a break as far as his health is concerned. It would be a wise decision to bring him back for one more season and just see if he can remain on the field.

Jeff Fisher needs a quarterback with the type of arm that Bradford has in order to be successful. The Rams have brought in quite a few weapons for their quarterback, and rookie running back Tre Mason has made a name for himself lately as well. St. Louis has all of the pieces to make a run next season if they can get more consistent play out of their quarterback.

Bradford appears to be the Rams’ first choice if he can remain healthy, and perhaps he can be the guy that returns from injury and takes the franchise back to success.
