Former Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini could be in the mix to take over the job that’s vacant at the moment for Wisconsin.
Bo Pelini is indeed in the mix to take over as head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers, according to a report from Clint Brewster over at Wolverines 247.
On Wednesday Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen, just four days after the 59-0 blowout loss in the Big Ten Championship Game to Ohio State, bolted to take over at Oregon State to the surprise of many who didn’t see the move coming.
Pelini was fired from Nebraska a few days after the regular season concluded last week, despite leading the team to a 10-win season and consistently winning at least nine games a season.
Earlier in the day on Thursday Wisconsin confirmed that athletic director and former head coach Barry Alvarez would be coaching the team in their upcoming Outback Bowl match up against Auburn.
There’s a lot of questions surrounding whether or not Pelini could be a good fit at Nebraska, especially considering that both he and Alvarez are combustible elements.
A Bo Pelini-Barry Alvarez partnership could be incredibly succesful. Someone could also get hit with a chair by Day 3.

Still, though, in the end it all comes down to winning, and although Nebraska showed him the door, Pelini can win football games. Egos might have to be thrust to the side to get this done, but it might be the best move for the Badgers’ program in the end.
