Army was able to strike first on Saturday in their annual rivalry game with the Navy Midshipmen by utilizing their special teams.
The annual game that a lot of college football fan look forward to between Army and Navy is underway on Saturday, with a lot of people expecting the Midshipmen to get the win in this one easily. However, Army showed early that they’re not here to just roll over and play dead.
No, very early on in this one the Black Knights made a big statement early, and they did it with their special teams.
With just under 10 minutes to go in the game, Army forced Navy into a punting situation to get the ball back. Well, Army did indeed get the ball back, and then some.
Watch in the video below as they get the punt block and take it right into the end zone for the opening touchdown of the game.
Now to put into perspective just how significant this was, historically speaking, this was the first time the Army Black Knights had found the end zone without their offense since 2001.
That right there could be a good omen.
