Amari Cooper is a Heisman Trophy finalist, but his NFL career will quickly become the center of his attention with the Carolina Panthers already living in that real estate.

It seems suffice to say that Amari Cooper is a top NFL prospect, as something like that foes without saying. But as he prepares to watch Marcus Mariota win the award on Saturday night, the bright lights of his NFL future are going to help him get through losing College Football’s most prestigious award.

More from Carolina Panthers

Cooper is the latest in a long line of top tier Alabama talent ready to leap into the NFL, and he comes from a decent group of wide receivers to have rolled tide over the years. Julio Jones stands out as the greatest example of this, and there are many who believe that Cooper can be that special too.

As opined by David Newton from ESPN, the Carolina Panthers would be a perfect fit if Amari Cooper falls to them should they land int he Top 10 this season.

"If they are in the top 10 and there is a solid tackle available, that would be a no-brainer — unless wide receiver Amari Cooper of Alabama comes out and is available. But you would probably need a top five pick for him. Imagine that talent beside 2013 first-round pick Kelvin Benjamin. There only are four or five tackles projected to go in the first round. Much will depend on free agency and what the Panthers do there."

This seems obvious, as Cooper will be a fit on just about any roster in the NFL. Talented receivers do well in the NFL, as proved by Mike Evans having a great rookie season with the god-awful Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cooper paired with Benjamin though could be deadly on a whole new level for the NFL.

Cam Newton has made Benjamin a stud in his rookie season, and pairing Cooper with him would make up for their purging of their receiving corps this offseason.

There’s no saying Cooper will last in the draft, even outside of the Top 5, but Carolina landing him could be something that turns the franchise around.
